  • New Morning Procedures

Beginning Monday, February 22nd, ALL students will be outside to walk the track with their friends before school begins as long as weather permits. If it is not raining and is 40 degrees or above with wind chill, the track will be open for all students between 7:45- 8:05 a.m. with certified and support staff on duty. If it is raining or below 40 degrees with wind chill, ALL students will remain in their previously designated areas in the cafeteria or gym (PK, K, 2nd, 4th in the gym and 1st, 3rd, 5th, in the cafeteria). During cold or inclement weather days, students will need a book to read while they wait for their teacher. At 8:05, a stop sign will go out on the track and students will be sent to line up with their teachers to be taken inside to class. The cafeteria is also open to ALL students to eat breakfast but will be sent outside after they finish eating their breakfast. Due to these changes, Sra. Hamer will need to modify her running clubs and toe token incentives (more info to come), but is excited that this will encourage the WHOLE SCHOOL to live a healthier and fit life-style. Drop-off procedures will remain the same. Mitchell Park, due to Montessori drop-off, will remain CLOSED for morning drop-off and students should not go directly to the track from the parking lot. Students will still enter through the front or cafeteria doors, as usual, and go outside to the track through the east doors by the library.
